Webyoo-UK lends a hand in finding suppliers by offering a network of businesses filtered on the strength of their record. Using a combination of demographics submitted by companies and together with verifiable information on record in the public domain, we hope you will agree this is a better way to start searching for a quality supplier.

By covering all the areas of the UK, we intend this to be the largest open source of business information that quickly establishes supplier’s credentials. Members of the public wont have to worry if the plumber or builder they have chosen has public liability and employee insurance it will be on our files. At the other extreme a Practice Manager responsible for the refurbishment budget in a doctor’s surgery will know the companies they are talking to at least meets the basic requirements of solvency and liability cover.

When Robert Cheesbrough first invented Vaseline, he tested it on his own cuts and burns. Having demonstrated the product’s efficacy on himself, Chesebrough was still unable to sell any to chemists or drug stores until he travelled around New York State demonstrating his miracle product. In front of an audience, he would burn his skin with acid or an open flame, and then spread the clear jelly on his injuries while demonstrating past injuries, healed, he claimed, by his miracle product. Following the demonstration, he would dish out free samples to the public.

Practically all of the above would be impossible to do without breaking numerous regulations on health and safety in most of the Worlds developed countries. Probably a good thing overall but it does mean we would be denied this superb and enduring product together with countless other day to day items we take for granted.

However, that was then and as sellers and buyers, we have to deal with today – the here and now. From the customer perspective, they need to find a supplier who is not only good at what they do but also must meet with a raft of health and safety, environmental and employee concerns. Traditional directories either printed or online listing names and addresses of businesses are useful in the first instance but this still leaves a long trail of due diligence to be completed by the customer.
